Some people believe that a dark image of AI projected on public imagination by the popular movie series Terminator will be difficult to erase for several generations. However, there are also many positive AI powered fictional characters in mass media, which show that humans can collaborate efficiently with intelligent machines. Star Wars, the most famous movie series in human history, has droids like C-3PO, R2-D2 and BB-8, who have become the favorites of millions. Droid is a short for android, which from ancient Greek means “having the likeness of a man.”

In recent years big tech companies have developed virtual assistants backed by artificial intelligence such as Alexa, Cortana, Siri, Google, who help to find answers to random questions or implement simple tasks for users from all over the world. Once metaverse becomes more mainstream for remote work, we could have cyber-colleagues on our project teams. These new colleagues powered by artificial intelligence could have specialized job skills, unique avatar faces and even certain human personality traits.
